DCV100 - XJ 18V Blower

The Why!

As Previously stated, in my day to day work life its important to keep the work area clean and minimise mess for the customer.

I went for a cordless blower as I didn't need something as powerful as my electric leaf blower and wanted something that wasn't going to take up a lot of room in the van.

I already have other DeWalt kit so had batteries available and I've, on the whole, been happy with the brand.

First Impressions

So ordered mine from Amazon, I find this quite convenient for delivery and they were competitive on price.

I've just checked my account and I bought this in 2019. I think that has to show for something!

It was a little smaller than I was expecting but to be honest I think that its a bonus.

So what's in the cardboard box

This is what they call the 'Naked' edition, which basically means no batteries and no case. Which was fine with me as I have plenty of batteries.

In addition to the blower body there are two extension tubes and a inflator/deflator attachment.

I keep the inflator/deflator attachment at home so it doesn't get lost and the extension hose I leave connect to the blower.

Using it

It does what I need it to do and to be honest it's better than I thought it would be.

The primary use was to help me with cleaning down work areas, such as saw dust from where I been using a circular saw or mitre saw and to clean the tools too.

As a secondary use I have been known to use it to blow away leaves. Some reviews say it doesn't lift wet leaves but I've never had that issue on my tarmac drive.

Lastly, we have also used it to blow up an air bed when we have had the need for it. Much quicker than a foot pump or by hand!

Conclusion

  • If you're looking for a full on leaf blower then this may not be for you, but I haven't had any issues and it's not expensive.
  • I love it, it does what I need it to do and packs quite a bit of power for something so small and,
  • If it broke tomorrow I would order another.
  • I have owned this since 2019 and has been faultless which is probably why DeWalt still sell this model.
