The Why!
The reason I chose to purchase this particular one for myself was after I had installed one for a customer, so I can't take all the credit for this one as they had already done the all the research.
So when I needed one for my own home I purchased this too.
So I ordered mine from Amazon, this is quite convenient for delivery speed and they were competitive on price at the time I ordered.
The kit comprises of;
As always with any self assembly, make a drink or even better get someone to make one for you. Once you have your drink take your time to read the instructions and familiarise yourself with the contents of the box.
There are two main parts
When mounting the wall bracket remember to check for cables, pipes etc. You also need decide if the fatenings are appropriate for you wall. If there is no gap behind the plaster/plasterboard or small gap then the provided fastenings will suffice (Reread the instructions on this part) For walls with a larger cavity I use Timco Stella-Fix Universal Anchors.
Once you have mounted the wall bracket and attached the TV Mount to the TV you just need to put them together.
The great thing about this is how the TV mount and the main bracket come together. In basic brackets you have to hook the tv bracket onto the wall plate lining up two thin "hooks" and then lock in using bolts from underneath or spring loaded latches.
The Invision Bracket has what is called a key slot mechanism. On the main wall mounted bracket there is a raised circular mounting point and on the tv bracket there is what looks like an upside down key hole. You simply line these up and lower the TV on. The two are then secured together with a couple of bolts. This is easy to do as you can extend the arms and have plenty of room to work between the TV and the wall. If its a large TV its sometimes best to get help with this part.
Other things of note that I haven't yet talked about.
After installing some of the other TV brackets with arms I would normally recommend to customers to minimise movement as the arms are stiff and I worry about the stress it places on the wall fastenings. With the Invision TV Bracket I don't need to, it's double arm action is very smooth and minimises the stress.
The arms are covered with plastic cable tidies, this keeps the cables away from the mechanism and prevents them dropping down between the TV and the Wall bracket. There is also a plastic cover for the wall mount that hides the fastenings
