DeWalt - DWV9000-XJ Universal Adaptor
The Why!
Pretty straight forward really, the dust bag/collectors on my sanders weren't enough for larger jobs and therefore needed something that would be more effective at collecting the dust.
So what's in the box?

Using it
First Impressions
Initially I wasn't impressed. This was because after contacting DeWalt directly they advise me this is what I needed to connect to my DeWalt Universal Extractor - DWH161N-XJ 18V XR. The problem was that it just didn't fit as the tube and connector are very thin. To get it to work I had to use a stepped adaptor and the it just kept falling off.
Day to day use
I eventually connected the Universal Adaptor to my Henry Vacuum Cleaner and it's been brilliant.
One of the useful features is that when it is connected to my tools it it is able to swivel, this prevents the hose from getting twisted and or causing drag.
Dust Extraction
On the whole it has been brilliant for my orbital sander and my belt sander, not so good on the circular saw.
I don't know if this is a design fault on the circular saw or if my Henry isn't powerful enough to cope with the rate the Circular saw is creating waste/dust.
Conclusion
- Its good, solid and robust
- I love it, it does what I need it to do
- I have had no issues
- Recommend you treat yourself to the universal adaptor especially if sanding for longer periods of time
